Elaine Reed is an artist who lives in Hill Head, Hampshire, UK. She specialises in painting and teaching watercolours although she loves working in pastels, gouache, coloured pencils and oils also.
Formal training was a Foundation year leading to SRD in Graphic Design/illustration at Southampton Faculty of Art and Design followed by a year of studying Fine Art at L'Ecole des Beaux Arts, Le Havre, France.
Running through all my work is my love of the sea and coast. This is a subject I return to all the time.
Recent work has begun to show my interest in folklore and myth. I've always been an illustrator at heart and I've spent the last 2 years painting pictures which tell a story or are illustrations.
My work can be seen at: Between Dreams and Penny Farthing, Botley,
Gallery 77, Lee-on-Solent, Hiscocks, Southsea and Fareham Gallery or at my home.
